Polyamory may be Good for you – Scientific American Article

A recent article in Scientific American, , explores some of the recent research and information about polyamorous individuals.

Among the findings:
* Poly folks communicate more than most couples. Honesty, openness and communication are the hallmarks of poly relationships.
* LGB folks are slightly more likely than heterosexuals to enter nonmonogamous relationships
* Polyamorous people high in the personality trait of openness, which indicates high interest in new experiences (this one goes into the “duh, we already knew that category”)
* Polyamorous individuals are well-educated, holding more master’s and doctoral degrees than the general population, but
* They don’t make more money
* They are less likely to be jealous when a partner meets someone new, and often greet such events with positivity.
* They are more likely to practice safe sex than people who cheat (have sex outside of a primary partnerships without their partner’s consent)
